Firstly lets go through the amazing features of the emergency necklace / bracelet – which is also commonly known as the MyAmie Pendant.
- Range of 100m – This means that the pendant will still connect with the alarm’s base unit if the user is outside in the garden.
- 7 Year battery life – The pendant has a brilliant battery and we automatically receive a warning message if it is beginning to run low. We will send you a replacement free of charge as soon as we receive this message.
- Waterproof – This means that the user can wear their pendant in the bath and shower. The risk of a fall increases during these moments due to the slippery nature of the bathroom. We do advise that you do not submerge the pendant in water for longer than 30 minutes.
- 869MHz Frequency – The pendant uses the European Social Alarm frequency to ensure that it does not interfere with any other medical equipment in your home.
- Small & Stylish – The MyAmie pendant has been designed to be as comfortable to wear as possible. Its sleek look means that you will not feel embarrassed to keep your pendant on when you leave your home.
How the pendant works
The MyAmie pendant can be worn as an emergency necklace as we already know, or it can be worn around the wrist as a bracelet. The device is connected to our personal alarm’s base unit which is installed in your home via your telephone socket and a power socket.
Once the installation, set-up and test run has been completed you will be in the hands of our 24/7 Care Team – who are available 365 days a year. Should you feel unwell or have a fall in your home then all you need to do is press the big red button on your emergency necklace or bracelet.
This sends an alert to the Care Team and somebody from the monitoring centre will try to speak with you over the base unit’s loudspeaker. He or she will assess the situation before calling your emergency contacts – family, friends or neighbours – to inform them that you require their help.
Of course the emergency services will also be contacted if needs be, and the Care Team will pass on your medical records to them so that they know what they could be dealing with upon arrival.
Extra emergency necklace
Many of our customers like to order an additional emergency necklace, or bracelet depending on their preference, for themselves. The idea behind this is so that they always have a spare around the house if they lose their first pendant device.
With a second device in your home you are giving yourself that little bit of extra security, especially if you are known to forget where you leave things or are often losing your processions around your home.
Other customers like to have a second emergency necklace to keep upstairs, or to keep by the back door for when they go out into the garden. This way they can have a pendant to wear downstairs, and a different one to wear upstairs.
As for those who switch for the garden, this may be due to the fact that they don’t want to get any dirt on the pendant that they wear inside their home. In these situations the additional device would become the gardening pendant – Remember the pendant has a range of up to 100m!!
