In the second of our Meet The Team blogs we speak with Senior Customer Service Executive Elly about her role here at Lifeline24. Elly has been with the team for 10 months now and could very well be the person you speak to should you choose to enquire about a personal alarm from Lifeline24.

“I’ve always been a big reader and I also love to write. I enjoy crochet as well, though I’m not very good at it! I also recently completed a Certificate in Counselling Skills, and am hoping to do some volunteering with people in my local area.”
What is your role at Lifeline24 and what does this involve on a daily basis?
I am a Senior Customer Service Executive so my primary role is talking with customers, whether this is over the phone or by email. Along with my colleagues, I help our customers with any queries they might have and take orders for new alarms.
Alongside this I often help with some of the more technical calls, for example if any customers need any support whilst setting up their alarm. I also helped to train and welcome some of the newer
members of our Customer Services team when they joined us.
What do you enjoy most about working for Lifeline24?
I love working with people, and it makes me really happy knowing that I am working in a company which is really helping people. Many of our customers are
quite vulnerable, and it is a pleasure to speak with them and to hear their stories. It is great that we can give them, and their families, some peace of mind!
This vulnerability can also be the most challenging part of our roles here – we do hear many moving stories, and it is always hard to hear when someone is going through a difficult time. Yet it is inspiring to see so many people taking their independence into their own hands! Working for Lifeline24, I also have a wonderful, caring group of people as my colleagues and it is wonderful to work with like-minded and friendly people.
Any memorable stories whilst at work?
Working with people on the phones, you never fail to speak to someone memorable every day. However, I do remember laughing with a customer as her kitten jumped up her leg while we were on the phone – she said it was very hard to concentrate with the little claws climbing up her trousers!
What you say to elderly people who are considering joining our service?
I’ve heard so many people say that the alarm provides such great peace of mind – even if you never need to use it, it’s there just in case. I would also say that if you are unsure about whether the service is for you, just give us a call! We’re always more than happy to answer any questions you have, and it can really help to have a chat about how everything works.
